We work with clients on complex French international and multi-jurisdictional matters. With over 50 years of experience in France, our Paris office is a market leading firm, a position recognised by the IFLR Europe Awards, who awarded us France Law Firm of the Year in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017, and Chambers Europe Awards for Excellence in 2013, 2015 and 2016. Our team of 37 partners and around 170 fee-earners includes lawyers representing over 35 nationalities. Our team is also qualified in many jurisdictions, spanning an impressive range of culture and language.
We have developed a veritable savoir-faire in a number of sectors in France and elsewhere. Our lawyers have a fine understanding of the legal and economic environment in which our clients operate, and can easily and promptly adapt their advice in the light of the relevant business and operational constraints.
A leading role in the region and beyond
Our Paris office, opened in 1962, plays a pivotal role in the management and organisation of the continental European network of Clifford Chance offices, enjoying close working relationships with colleagues from across the region, together with Istanbul and Casablanca. Our top-flight office in Morocco acts as a gateway to North Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa. Working together with more than 200 lawyers from across the network, the Africa practice brings together six regional teams covering the whole of Africa.
We have formed strong ties with partner law firms in countries where we do not have our own office and we pride ourselves on our significant track record of major international deals where we act as international counsel in close and fruitful cooperation with local law firms.

The Clifford Chance office is centrally located near the Elysée Palace in a magnificent early 20th century building designed by architect Henri-Paul Nénot as the headquarters of the Compagnie Financière de Suez. A central courtyard provides natural light to offices spread over four floors with a private venue for cocktail parties during long, summer evenings.
