Give a brief overview of your role at the firm now, when you joined and your background before joining.
I belong to the Clifford Chance family from the very beginning of my career – started as a student (paralegal) in 2008 for a three-month internship, then came back in 2010 for another internship followed by junior lawyer position after my graduation in January 2011. Throughout these years I passed my bar exams and became a qualified lawyer, later promoted to senior lawyer and four years back to a counsel. I am the first female counsel in a history of Clifford Chance Prague office.

Why did you become a lawyer (please relate this to your practice area) – what prompted and sustained your pursuit?
I always saw myself in a global firm of a Clifford Chance type and already on a high school believed that graduating from a law school is a good foundation for my future. Therefore, already as a student I felt the need to become part of such international environment also to test if it is really what I want to do in my life. Joining our real estate practise in Prague was the best start I could have – it immediately absorbed me and I knew I want to specialise and gain more knowledge in this field.

What motivates you in your role? The team, new mandates, competitive market and other colleagues.
It's a combination of all – firstly, our real estate practise for many years appears as tier 1 in every ranking. It is motivating and challenging to maintain it and me and the team try to do our best. Further, it is the attractiveness of the mandates – when there is a landmark transaction, we always aim to represent seller or buyer and in majority of the cases, we are successful.

How would you describe the culture and atmosphere at Clifford Chance?
The proof that the atmosphere in Clifford Chance is just perfect are those years I spent there – the environment is friendly, respectful and colleagues and business services true professionals, who are always helpful.

What are the key skills you have developed here which have been invaluable to your career?
Negotiation skills, knowledge of RE market, management of the team.

What is your key advice for anyone considering a career at Clifford Chance?
Do not hesitate!:) Seriously, Clifford Chance has all you are looking for when working for a global law firm.

What is the most exciting deal/matter/project you have worked on recently?
Another unique aspect of working for Clifford Chance is that often we advise across the borders of our local jurisdiction. From Prague we advised on the sale of a portfolio of shopping centres in CEE, the sale of Wars Sawa Junior Shopping Centre in Warsaw, or the acquisition of the Corner6 office building in Budapest. And most recently, the disposal of two Swedish retail assets, Port 73 and Gallerian Nian, serve as great examples of cross-boarded type of work and of our strong relationship with our client, CBRE Investment Management.
