I joined Clifford Chance in 2018 as Resource Allocation Manager. In my previous role I worked at one of the big management consultancy firms. After five years as HR Generalist, I became a Resource Manager, coordinating a team of five people and managing staffing needs of clients in the product world. My team managed around 2,000 people in total.
Why I chose Clifford Chance 

I wanted to join Clifford Chance because I was very impressed by the organisational structure. I have always worked in very structured environments and I had always imagined law firms to not have the same level of structure. I was pleased to find that Clifford Chance is an organisation where you can make a difference and where my ideas can be exchanged, which is much harder to achieve in hyper-structured environments.

The work

The most interesting challenge I've had thus far was structuring the Resource Allocation Management area that previously did not exist. I had to build an understanding of the existing needs and problems and then create ad hoc processes to resolve them which was very stimulating and continues to motivate me.

The best thing about my role

This may seem a trivial answer, but I really like interacting with people, understanding their challenges, supporting them, guiding them and trying to give them solutions that improve their feeling of well-being in the firm without neglecting the objectives of the firm itself. I find it very rewarding to feel useful and to do something (even in my own small way) that leads people to gain an immediate benefit.
